Digital camera, which is commonly known as a digicam, refers to a multi-media device which assists in capturing photographs and videos digitally. Unlike a film camera, digital camera uses charged coupled device (CCD) for capturing images that are stored in an electronic format of the memory card. This eradicates the film process, i.e., the requirement of developing a film-roll in the dark room.
